The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men gang aft agley

Well they did with regard to my mother...

She is now in Frimley Park hospital suffering from sepsis brought about by either a blocked bowel or a bladder infection - she has both...

Well now we know why the "dear old lady" didn't want to eat and was demanding to be taken to the toilet all the times!

On the up side - she was almost certainly suffering from both before I moved her to the "seniors home" and would probably have snuffed it at home without anyone working out what was wrong with her. At least the home rumbled that here was something seriously wrong and got her into hospital in the nick of time.

She has been given some liquid dynamite to clear the blockage and a massive dose of antibiotics to deal with the sepsis and the bladder complaint. I hope the bladder condition hasn't compromised her kidneys - she stopped drinking (water and whiskey) because of the in"convenience" of having to be hoisted onto the loo (as she had stopped walking) and that is the last thing you should do if you have a bladder infection - sad to say it could be the last thing she does too

She is making progress, so fingers crossed!
